Sound Environments is a bespoke music project developed in partnership with Eleanor Aston, Ward Manager and the clinical teams and nursing staff at PICU and HDU at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. M4H musicians Ros Hawley and Mark Fisher make weekly visits to the units to add their music with the aim of supporting the wellbeing of children, families and staff. The music encourages a positive change in experiences of noise and stress; interaction with the music and the musicians promotes new ways to connect and ‘take a moment’ of time; smiles, eye contact, changes in breathing and body language tell the story of music’s role within the unit. This album, composed by Mark contributes to a series of wellbeing listening resources for the project, linked to the seasons. Album release date: 22 April 2020
